How it works

No mystery to it.

Here's exactly what happens from your first message to someone starting with your team.
And what happens after, which is the part most staffing companies skip.

  1. 1

    You tell us the role

Role, hours, timezone, budget, and when you need someone. A real person on our team reads it. If it's not a role we can fill well, we'll tell you instead of taking your money and trying.

  2. 2

    We agree the terms

You sign an agreement with us, and each placement gets its own short addendum. We bill monthly in advance, so the first month upfront is what starts the search. If we don't find someone you want to hire, you get it back in full.

  3. 3

    We source and vet

We screen every candidate, and each one provides government documents before they start. Sourcing takes up to 14 working days, and on or before day 14 you'll have the resumes of our top 3.

  4. 4

    You meet our top 3

We put forward our three strongest candidates, not a pile of resumes. You interview them and choose. If nobody's right, we go again.*

*Honestly, we get it right most of the time. But it does happen, so be clear about what you want from the start.

  5. 5

    Onboarding

Once you've chosen, we take about a week to process their documents and onboard them on our side: setup, expectations, how we work. You use that week to get their logins and tools ready, then bring them into your systems and your team.

  6. 6

    We stay involved

This is the part that makes the difference. We handle attendance and performance, deal with problems before they become yours, and send you a simple report on where the hours went whenever you ask. When you give a raise, 100% goes to them.

Questions people usually ask

Before you start

How long until someone starts?

Sourcing takes up to 14 working days. On or before day 14, you'll have the resumes of our top 3. Once you've chosen, we take about a week to process their documents. That week gives you time to set up everything they'll need on your side, like logins and tools.

How do you choose who we meet?

We match against the requirements you set and who's available at the time we're sourcing. From there, we put forward the people who match most closely and communicate well. Every candidate is screened and provides government documents before they start.

Why the Philippines?

We're talented, and we're hard workers. English is our second language, and we start learning it in preschool.

Working together

Who do they actually work for?

They're independent contractors. They work for themselves, and they provide their services to you through Staffed. We manage the partnership between you, from their contract and pay to their support.

What hours do they work?

Whatever hours you set.

Will they learn our systems?

Yes. We ask you upfront which tools you use, or ones close to them, and source people who already know them. That makes your systems much easier to learn.

How do I know they're actually working?

A daily or weekly report, a monthly recap, and a work diary report whenever you ask for one. But what matters most is clear goals. If the measure of success is "everything", it can feel like nothing's getting done, even when a lot is. Agree what good looks like from the start, and progress is easy to see.

Do we need to give them a laptop?

No. Every contractor has their own device.

Is our data safe with them?

Every contractor signs a confidentiality agreement. You decide what they can access, and we'd suggest giving them their own logins rather than sharing yours. If you'd rather keep your data on equipment you control, you're welcome to provide a device.

What happens if their internet or power goes out?

They tell us as soon as possible. Depending on what's easiest in the moment, they'll reach out to you directly or we'll do it for them. Most have a backup in place. For bigger things like typhoons or emergencies, they can make up the hours on another day, if you're happy with that.

Do they take Philippine holidays?

Only four: 24, 25 and 31 December, and 1 January. Other than that, they follow the holidays you give your own team.

Contracts and money

How does billing work?

You sign one agreement with us, then a short addendum for each person. We bill monthly in advance, so each month is paid before it starts. Invoices go out on the 1st for the following month, and are due by the end of the month they're sent. Your first month is paid upfront, and that's what starts the search.

Is there a minimum term?

No. We're month to month. If you need to end a role, we just ask for 30 days' notice in writing.

What if it isn't working out?

Let us know, and we'll find you a replacement.

Can we give them a raise?

Please do. 100% of it goes to them, we don't take a cut. If a raise isn't possible right now, you can offer health cover instead, for around $50 to $100 a year.

Do we have to pay 13th month pay or benefits?

No, it isn't required. But it's very much appreciated. Looking after your people is a big part of what makes them stay long term.

Can we hire them directly later?

Yes, there's a one-off buyout fee.

Who owns the work they do?

You do.

Tell us what you need.

Takes two minutes. A real person on our team replies within one working day.* Not a bot, and no hard sell.

*Weekends not included. We work hard all week so our team can rest and spend time with the people they love.
